Learning to tie a shoe can be tricky for young children who have not mastered fine motor skills. They need loads of hands-on practice. This story helps children learn the steps by reading a story that rhymes and watching two friends, Red and Blue, make the shapes and complete the steps necessary to end with a bow!
Red and Blue Tie Your Shoe! eBook Julie Schultz
"Red and Blue Tie Your Shoe!" by Julie Schultz is a very simple, basic lesson on how to tie a shoe. Instead of the old "the rabbit comes out of the hole, runs around the tree, and goes back in the hole" or whatever it was (or is that how to tie a necktie???), the author uses a red shoe lace on one side, and a blue one on the other side, so it's easier for kids to follow along. It's been a long, long time since my kids had to learn to tie their shoes, so I can't remember for sure, but I don't believe they could read yet, although I certainly could be wrong. Nevertheless, I believe kids would learn to tie their shoes much easier if an adult were reading the book along with them, while they both tied a shoe. This isn't exactly a story, but rather a simple lesson on how to do one thing. Consequently I don't think it would be in high demand for a bedtime story, but you just never know what kids will want you to read to them! Regardless, it makes a useful tool to help teach kids a basic life skill they will need to learn.Product details

Red and Blue Tie Your Shoe! eBook Julie Schultz Reviews
we had a great time learning to tie our shoes using this book!!! well worth the time it took to read it!
I chose this book because I need my son to learn how to tie his shoe as I quickly read the book I found the pictures to be hard to understand!
I was looking for a book that would help my Grandson learn to tie his shoes. I think this book is a very cute idea. But my Grandson could not translate it into real life shoe tying. In the story, the shoe lace is half red and half blue. It would have been great if a red/blue shoelace was included with the book. Since it wansn't, it was difficult to work with a plain white shoe lace while looking at a red/blue shoe lace. I would not buy this book.
